Andy Cohen, the famous American radio and TV talk show host and producer, is not the only individual with that name. There is also a lovable Pittie mix named Andy Cohen who found himself at the Tift County Animal Shelter in Georgia after his owner could no longer care for him. Alongside three other dogs, Andy Cohen was surrendered to the shelter in early November 2023 because his owner had to return to work as a truck driver.

Leah Robinson, the rescue coordinator at the Tift County Animal Shelter, spoke to Newsweek magazine about the heartbreaking situation. She shared that when Andy Cohen and the other dogs arrived at the shelter, they were scared and huddled together. Andy Cohen himself was especially shy, crying, and feeling abandoned. It was clear that he needed love and support during this difficult time.

To raise awareness and encourage adoption and fostering of shelter dogs, especially during the holiday season, the shelter decided to share a video of sweet Andy Cohen seeking comfort from the staff. In the viral video, viewers can see this beautiful dog with a sad expression on his face, receiving gentle strokes from a staff member as he clings to her leg. It is a touching reminder that these animals just want someone to be there for them and show them love.

Recognizing the constant fear and stress that Andy Cohen experienced at the shelter, the management made the decision to transport him to another shelter in New York City called Waldo’s Rescue Pen. This sister shelter offered him a fresh start with a family that would truly love and care for him. Luckily, everything went according to plan, and Andy Cohen found the happy ending he deserved.

When Waldo’s Rescue Pen shared the video featuring Andy Cohen’s heartbreaking story, it deeply touched the viewers. However, the story took a fortunate turn as it didn’t take too long for Andy, now lovingly referred to as Buddy, to find his perfect forever home right before Thanksgiving. It goes without saying that Buddy had a lot to be grateful for during this holiday season.

The heartwarming announcement video stated, “Buddy is now called Buddy and is living his best life alongside his new family in NY. We couldn’t be happier for Buddy and his loving family! We extend our heartfelt thanks to them for choosing Waldo’s Rescue.” It’s evident that Buddy has already settled into his new environment and is radiating happiness. To make things even more wonderful, he has found a furry companion to share his joy with. It’s truly heartwarming.

A special message is directed to Buddy’s incredible adoptive family – thank you! Their decision to provide him with a loving home is greatly appreciated, and we sincerely request that they never let him go.
